Quantity Surveyor
Summary:
We have a fantastic opportunity for a highly organised and experienced quantity surveying professional, with a strong attention to detail, to join our expanding team at N-Gen, based at Thorpe Park in Leeds for an initial two year fixed term contract.
The successful applicant will form part of a close knit, dynamic Commercial Team, working with and supporting other project team members. You will have experience in maximising commercial value, influencing cost control, mitigating risk, and assisting with the delivery of all specific business outputs and targets.

Key responsibilities:
· Participating in commercial and procurement strategies to deliver costs within budgets.
· Building and maintaining working relationships with the supply chain and clients.
· Preparing budgets and forecasts and reporting financial performance.
· Estimating costs
· Measuring quantities and pricing work as required.
· Identifying commercial risks, opportunities, value engineering and change
· Assisting with internal and external commercial reporting and other reports as required.
· Assisting with cost control and providing cost mitigation measures where appropriate.
· Undertaking contract administration, including change management and maintenance of associated registers
· Assessing applications for payment in accordance with the contract and preparing of payment certificates.
· Liaising with the accounts team to receipt goods and check invoices
· Liaising with the procurement and accounts teams regarding purchase orders and requisitions
· Complying with N-Gen governance, policies, and procedures
Skills and experience required:
· Minimum of 5 years Quantity Surveying or otherwise appropriate experience
· Previous experience in either gas, utilities, civil engineering, M&E or renewable technology is advantageous but not essential.
· Must communicate and work well with others and form strong relationships within the team.
· Commercially astute with some knowledge of NEC Forms of Contract.
· Excellent organisational & record keeping skills and task management skills
· Confident in dealing with supply chain partners.
· Computer literate with strong skills in Microsoft Office Applications (Word/Excel/Outlook/PowerPoint)
· Work flexibly to meet the needs of the role including occasional travel to other locations within the UK.
· Self-motivated. Capable of working under minimal supervision and on own initiative.
· Full UK driving License.

What we Offer:
We believe that our people should be recognised for their contribution. Therefore, we offer the below package:
· Full time role for a 2 year period initially
· A starting salary of £40,000 – £50,000 depending on experience
· Car allowance
· 40 hours per week
· Up to 10% bonus (dependent upon achievement of set targets)
