Owning, operating and investing in UK energy infrastructure

N-Gen is a UK non-regulated energy platform, specialising in owning, investing in and supporting the operation of energy infrastructure across the UK. We provide a platform for managing existing investments and are pursuing further growth opportunities across the energy sector.

Our current portfolio includes interests in onshore wind, landfill gas to power, anaerobic digestion and biomethane through UK Renewable Energy Group (UKREG), EDL UK and GWE Biogas. These businesses and assets provide an established base of energy generation and operational capability, alongside opportunities for further investment, development and diversification.

Our UKREG portfolio comprises 97 operational onshore wind assets across England, Scotland and Wales, with a combined generating capacity of more than 135 MW. The portfolio generates renewable electricity while supporting the communities in which its assets are located. Find out more about our UK REG portfolio here.

EDL Energy UK operates nine landfill-gas power stations across the UK, recovering landfill gas and using it to generate electricity. The portfolio also includes the Sandhill anaerobic-digestion facility in East Yorkshire, which trades as GWE Biogas. GWE processes food, agricultural and other organic wastes to produce electricity, heat and biomethane, together with useful by-products including biofertiliser and captured biogenic carbon dioxide.

We work closely with our operating companies and specialist asset-management partners, while operational responsibilities and accountabilities remain within each business. This approach combines clear strategic oversight, investment capability and support with the specialist expertise of the teams responsible for day-to-day operations.

We were originally established to pursue opportunities in low-carbon hydrogen. That experience has created capability and market knowledge that we retain, providing optionality to participate in future hydrogen opportunities that meet our investment criteria.

As we develop the platform, our focus is on responsible ownership, disciplined investment and sustainable growth across a broad range of energy infrastructure opportunities, building on the capabilities and assets already within our portfolio.
