N-Gen takes on management of EDL Energy’s UK operations

Transition brings EDL Energy’s established UK operations into N-Gen’s growing energy platform.

N-Gen has taken responsibility for managing EDL Energy’s operations in the United Kingdom with effect from 1 October 2026.

The transition brings EDL’s UK landfill-gas generation business and anaerobic digestion operation alongside UK Renewable Energy Group (UKREG), which came under N-Gen’s management earlier this year. Together, the businesses give N-Gen a broader presence across UK energy transition infrastructure.

UKREG owns 97 fully operational onshore wind assets across England, Scotland and Wales, generating more than 135 MW of renewable energy.

EDL’s UK portfolio comprises ten operating sites with around 54 MW of installed generation capacity. These include nine landfill-gas to power stations and the Sandhill anaerobic-digestion biogas plant in East Yorkshire, which trades as GWE Biogas.

Safety, reliable operations and continuity of service remain the immediate priorities. EDL and N-Gen are working together to put the systems, governance and support arrangements in place for the combined platform.

Gareth Mills, Managing Director of N-Gen, said: “EDL Energy UK has an experienced team and a strong operational business. Our immediate focus is to support that team and maintain continuity for customers and partners."
"Bringing EDL Energy UK alongside UK Renewables Energy Group gives N-Gen a strong foundation for growth. We can build on the capabilities and relationships already in these businesses as we develop the wider platform.”
Aron Gunn, General Manager of EDL Energy UK, said: “Our teams will continue to operate the business and serve our customers and partners as they do today. This transition gives our UK operations a clear management home, while allowing us to build on the experience and relationships our people have developed over many years.”
